About this album

Matthew Owens and the Wells Cathedral Choir guide Taverner’s compassionate, late masterpiece through a transcendent world premiere in this fantastic release. The versatile choir is the shining star of this performance, gliding through chromatic twists and turns and expanded harmonies reminiscent of Ligeti, validating Taverner’s progressive polyphony.
