Watching the Sky

Sheppard's debut, Bombs Away, which included their breakout hit “Geronimo,” earned them a flood of ARIA nominations and a touring slot with Justin Bieber. Here, the Brisbane pop outfit return with a sunny second album of bright-eyed, anthemic pop designed to fill stadiums. The six-piece—made up of siblings George, Amy, and Emma Sheppard, along with bandmates Michael Butler, Jason Bovino, and Dean Gordon—rocket through dance-tinged numbers like “Keep Me Crazy” and “Coming Home” with the momentum of one slick unit. “We Belong” celebrates youthful invincibility with spirited harmonies and fighting “hoo-hah" chants. “We can chase the summer ’til the sun burns out,” George sings. “Not even gravity can hold us down."
