About this album
This is Brian Wilson’s love letter to his musical heroes, George and Ira Gershwin. He recasts “Rhapsody In Blue” as a Beach Boys-style choral piece and injects some doo-wop into “Summertime,” but also writes two new songs based on fragments from the iconic songwriters. “Nothing But Love” is a whimsical shuffle with electric guitar and horns; “The Like In I Love You” is a starlit ballad, with Wilson tellingly crooning, “It’s more than harmony, when you sing with me it’s an entire symphony.”
