An Evening With Brian McKnight (Live)

R&B superstar Brian McKnight gives his impressive discography a once-over on this 2016 live album, which showcases his unbridled romanticism, supple voice, and free-flowing charisma. McKnight throws himself into career-defining ballads like the simmering “Back at One” and the falsetto showcase “One Last Cry”; a stretched-out version of Van Morrison’s “Crazy Love” incorporates audience sing-alongs, jaw-dropping vocal runs, and a fleet-fingered solo by guitarist Isaiah Sharkey. The album also features three new recordings, including the smoothly funky “Forever,” which McKnight cowrote with his son.
