Peace by Piece - EP

Fireboy DML and artist/producer Pheelz are a natural pairing. On Peace by Piece, their first collaborative project after years of trading hits, the Nigerian stars ignite a mood that’s both lighthearted and consistently uplifting. Expansive call-and-response hooks ride breezy Afro-fusion beats, occasionally coloured by gliding guitar licks or saxophone flourishes. “On a Kentro” is the project’s opening anthem, on which the pair fuses Yoruba spirituality with gospel resilience for a declaration of strength (“Ẹsẹ mi ń gbọn, but I stand strong”). Amapiano textures ripple through “Gozi” and “ILWY,” while disco pulses push “Shake” into darker, club-ready terrain, broadening the project’s palette. “Young Again” bursts with youthful exuberance before the love confessional that is “ILWY” ensures any prospect of a proper full-length is a tantalizing one.
