Grace Street

Unleashing some of their most uniquely arranged and textured music to date, Big Wreck’s fifth album draws listeners into a universe of cosmic-kissed art rock. On “It Comes as No Surprise,” Ian Thornley’s sadness-dipped falsetto drifts through crashing, Queen-style riffs and bubbling keys, and “A Speedy Recovery” oozes heartache while laying down a slithering rhythm that’s complex and mesmerizing. The band also utilize intricately woven guitars and textures, like the interlocking funk licks punctuating psychedelic throbber “Floodgates.”
