About this album

The Divine Miss M's boogie-woogie bugle boy reincarnates as the drumming "Billy-A-Dick" in Mark Rydell's 1991 film starring Midler as the USO singer she sort of was all along. Midler gorgeously reworks standards like "Come Rain or Come Shine" and the Beatles' anachronistic-but-who-cares "In My Life." She spars cutely with co-star James Caan in "I Remember You" and returns to the present with hitmaker Diane Warren's emotive "Every Road Leads Back to You."
