About this album
Starting in the mid-’70s, Linval Thompson revealed himself as a twofold reggae artist, excelling as both a conscious, nuanced singer and a heady producer of riddims. This anthology highlights both aspects of his work, including tracks like the soulful “I Love Jah,” which sees Thompson confessing his devotion over a summery, swaying beat, as well as anthemic cuts like “I Love Marijuana,” which finds him toasting to heaven over a deep roots-reggae groove.
