About this album
Film composer and former Oingo Boingo bandleader Danny Elfman sounds freshly inspired for Tim Burton's dark 2005 comedy. Elfman dips into Boingo's bag of ‘80s tricks—including helium vocals, African rhythms, paisley-pop harmonies, and bohemian-rhapsodic prog-rock—for a brilliant quartet of songs inspired by Augustus Gloop, Violet Beauregarde, Veruca Salt, and Mike Teavee. Elfman's orchestral score is likewise dark and mischievous and sprinkled liberally with pixie dust.
