About this album
With a first disc of brightest moments from The Replacements’ last four studio albums, this compilation stuffs its second disc full of hidden-gem B-sides and unreleased cuts. “All He Wants to Do Is Fish” has a parlour piano driving the melody, giving it a kind of sea-shanty vibe. “Beer for Breakfast” is a choppy guitar jaunt that is both danceable and chantable. Alternate versions of the classics shine, too, particularly the unmixed “All Shook Down,” raw but as sharp as ever.
