About this album
This New Orleans pianist/songwriter/producer's fertile essence is contained in these three fine solo albums plus a 1975 live concert. The Crescent City's funky R&B tradition is distilled in "Goin' Down" from 1972's Life, Love and Faith; Toussaint celebrates his Creole heritage in the psychedelic title track to his 1975 R&B concept album, Southern Nights; and 1978's Motion explores glossier soul-funk in tracks like "Night People" without ever abandoning his hometown's unique flavour.
