A Time 2 Love

Stevie Wonder’s cameo-studded 2005 album features Prince, En Vogue, India.Arie and Paul McCartney, while the smooth modern beats nod warmly to hip-hop. As usual, Wonder takes unflinching stock of the past and present alike: The opening melody of “From the Bottom of My Heart” calls back to his ’70s hit “Sir Duke”, while the hypnotic nine-minute title track traces mankind’s toll on the environment and beyond. Most touching of all, Wonder salutes his late ex-wife and collaborator, Syreeta Wright, on “Shelter In the Rain”.
