About this album

Time hasn't dulled Miss May I's bite; the longer the Ohio group have stayed together, the more facets of metalcore they’ve explored. The title track of Shadows Inside is dominated by technical-metal riffs unfurling at dizzying speeds, while “My Destruction” transitions from a sedate Spanish-guitar intro to a thrashing '80s metal abyss. Miss May I even touch on metalcore’s peripheral cousins—such as on "Never Let Me Stay", a chilly, digital electro-prog headbanger with a spooky sheen.
