Alice Cooper owned 1971: In addition to Love It to Death, he dropped the equally hard-rocking Killer. The riff-spewing “Under My Wheels” sets the album’s tone with shredded growls, glam-coated horns and grooves steeped in Detroit-fuelled heavy metal. But Cooper also makes a few detours along the way, like “Halo of Flies”, a darkly cinematic prog rocker that rides a thundering gallop, and “Dead Babies”, a shock-rock tale of family dysfunction and suicide that smothers pop hooks in creepy atmosphere.
