About this album

This collection of remakes salutes Halestorm’s hard-rock ancestors. They deliver reverent, modern-minded reworks of Skid Row’s pummelling “Slave to the Grind” and Guns N’ Roses’ sleaze-drenched “Out ta Get Me”, where Hale’s vocals are a concrete bludgeon in comparison to Axl Rose’s serrated yowl. Halestorm also bow to pop: The grandiose remake of Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance” gives Hale a chance to vamp and strut, while their grimy version of The Beatles’ “I Want You (She’s So Heavy)” is punctuated by a wailing, churning coda.
