Houston

You can probably guess from the title that this 2011 Slim Thug tape is full of homages to the rich culture of the rapper’s hometown, plus plenty of features from local legends and newcomers alike. The title track recruits Paul Wall and Chamillionaire to wax poetic about their football team, the Texans, over a beat built from the NFL theme. Thug especially shines on “My Life”, featuring Propain, detailing in his low drawl how he’s stayed true to his roots while watching fame change his peers.
