About this playlist
Disco was born as an underground scene, played at New York clubs like The Gallery and The Loft in the early ‘70s. When the genre hit the mainstream, venues like The Paradise Garage and The Roxy began to play an eclectic mix of under-the-radar disco records with more aggressive beats. They kept the music alive through its inevitable mass backlash and positioned it for a ‘00s revival.
