Pocas bandas pueden decir que han dado a luz, por sí mismas, a un nuevo estilo musical con repercusión mundial. Bob Marley & The Wailers es una de ellas. Los jamaicanos comenzaron en 1963 haciendo R&B, ska y rocksteady, hasta llegar al reggae. Peter Tosh y Bunny Wailer son leyendas al nivel de Bob Marley y lograron su cénit creativo trabajando con los productores Lee Scratch Perry y Coxsonne Dodd. Cuando se alinearon los astros y todos comenzaron a trabajar con la discográfica Island, fundada en Jamaica y trasladada posteriormente a Gran Bretaña, llegaron a lo más alto de la música.
