Despite shifting membership since their 1980 formation—leaving founder and frontman Yuri Shevchuk as the sole original member—DDT have an immutable musical constant: a palpable sense of urgency. It’s inseparable from Shevchuk’s signature vocals which howl and prowl through all the band’s classics. It’s there in the jangle of “Не стреляй!”, the blues of “Террорист” and even the pastoral, acoustic-led “Я получил эту роль”.
