I Wings sono la band di classic rock formata da Paul McCartney assieme alla moglie Linda, Denny Laine, già membro dei Moody Blues, e Denny Seiwell. Dopo i primi due album, Wild Life del 1971 e Red Rose Speedway del 1973, i Wings partono per un lungo tour britannico. L'album successivo, Band on the Run, viene registrato in Nigeria e diventa presto un successo mondiale. Nel 1974 c'è l'ingresso del chitarrista Jimmy McCulloch e del batterista Geoff Britton, e un nuovo tour internazionale che culmina con la pubblicazione del celebre triplo album dal vivo Wings Over America.
