Maleek Berry: The Producers

UK producer and vocalist Maleek Berry represents the rise of Afrobeats from an African phenomenon to a global movement. On tracks like Mr Eazi's "Short Skirt", he applies washed-out synths and skittering, loping percussion to a sensuous, slow wind track. By contrast, Berry's "The Matter" collaboration with Wizkid has a thumping electronic flavour, and keyboards that mimic a bhangra sound.
