About this playlist
Проложившие путь готической рок-музыке на американской земле, Christian Death начали записывать свои мрачные музыкальные пассажи в то же время, когда их британские коллеги Bauhaus и Sisters of Mercy устанавливали каноны готик-рока. Однако, сами Christian Death определяли свой музыкальный стиль как «дэт-рок», а их первый альбом «Only Theater of Pain», записанный в 1982 году, представил более сырое, грубое и рваное панк-звучание, нежели классический готик-рок. Но со сменой фронтмена в 1985 году группа начала обновлять звучание, достигнув настоящей мрачной готики в 90-е.
