White Zombie bildades i New York 1985 av den blivande rockikonen och skräckfilmsfantasten Rob Zombie. Bandet började sin musikaliska bana som ett noiserockband med starka influenser från band som Swans och Foetus. Med de kommande albumen föll de in i heavy metal och groove metal. Under 90-talet hade de nått stora mainstreamframgångar och de fick ett flertal hits inom industri- och alternativ-rock. Bandet splittrades 1998 och Rob Zombie har sedan dess gjort sig ett namn som metalstjärna och skräckfilmsregissör.
