About this playlist
Jerry Jeff Walker became a linchpin of Austin's outlaw country scene in the '70s. But he was actually a New York native who started as a '60s folk troubadour. After a stint with the psychedelic band Circus Maximus, he released his first solo LP in '68. The records Walker made in the '70s after moving to Texas had outlaw country's raw spirit but with a good-time vibe that made him a cult hero.
