Since her debut over a decade ago, the singer and songwriter has soared to great heights with her sweet-sounding vocals and deeply emotive lyrics. Hailing from Dar Es Salam, she began singing early in her childhood years but didn’t pursue a career in music until a fated meeting with the late Ruge Mutahaba, the CEO of Tanzania House of Talent and the co-founder of Clouds Media. This also birthed her first hit song, the Ema the Boy-produced “Nagusagusa”. Her 2018 debut album The African Princess and its highlight “Ninogeshe”, a warm, charming acoustic track were staples on the East African airwaves at the time of its release. She’s sustained this momentum ever since by offering up a string of smooth-sounding tunes, including the dance-inducing single “Leo Leo”, the glittering romantic cut “Number One” featuring Joeboy and the titillating number “Hallelujah” featuring Willy Paul.
